Chum Chay in Cologne

My favorite restaurant is Cologne. They are super nice, the portions are big and satisfying, every dish is tasty and great! Now in corona times I had a few take always and they even wrap it good enough so it stays really warm. I highly recommend!

For me as a meat eater, a super good vegan address. Everything is very tasty and meatless, even in the afternoon I don't fall into a soup ?

Unbeatable price, incredibly tasty food and very good service. In my opinion it is a “must visit”, regardless of whether you live in Cologne or come from outside of Cologne.

Very tasty, well seasoned with fresh herbs. Wonderful curry and especially even if I'm not actually a tofu fan, it was the most delicious I have ever had. Is that a special strain?

A chilled beer away from the front. And then a (summer) spring roll. A little Pho afterwards. (Big size is also in it, it quickly becomes too much.) Then there is definitely still space for the mango pudding. Sitting outside in the sheltered inner courtyard in the middle of the city. A real gem that is borne by the kitchen and the very nice service.

Very tasty dishes at reasonable prices in a suitable atmosphere. All dishes are at least vegetarian, and many are even vegan. All in all, an absolute recommendation and definitely would be happy to return!

Amazing and delicious!!!

Very fresh and incredibly delicious food - I've rarely eaten anything better than there. Nice ambience, even if it is always quite crowded, but that doesn't detract from it. The price-performance ratio is also completely okay. The staff is always friendly and courteous :)

Terrific vegetarian and vegan food (I'm a meat eater, btw) paired with very friendly people and decently fast service! Go there, sit outside, have a great meal and some time off the hustle of the day. Don't forget your dessert!

Very good authentic meatless Vietnamese food. Small menu, everything fresh and well seasoned. Although it was busy - late Friday at noon - quick, friendly service. Relaxed atmosphere in a cozy courtyard. Gladly again!! Only 4 stars, as 1.50 m was not really kept due to Corona.

They serve really great food. Usually you have to stand on a queue for 30 minutes to get a seat. But at the end it is great food. The cinnamon tea is really nice. It is not very expensive any main course is under 10 euro. 1 main dish is enough for 1 person. Enjoy!

The food is a dream. Really delicious and authentic. The staff is friendly and the prices for the level offered fairly fair. However, always very full, even in the early evening, so make sure to reserve in advance.

Best vietnamese in Cologne!

Lovely secluded place! Huge variety of vegan meals and friendly waiters, I really enjoyed the atmosphere overall and the food was delicious, I would highly recommend it. Price-wise it was very appropriate and not too expensive.

Very tasty and quick food. We had to wait some time until we got a table, but this speaks for the restaurant. The waitress was very leisurely on the road and also took some time to place our order. The very good food and the delicious drinks made up for this, however. The waiter's question was frightening whether other guests could sit down with us. Overall it was really good, the food was really outstanding.

Chum Chay is definitely one of my favorite restaurants in Cologne! The taste of the food is great! Portions are getting smaller sometimes.. But other than that everything is great ?

Love this place and I do go there at least once a week for the spring rolls.

Excellent Vietnamese food, all dishes are vegetarian so it´s make it very easy when you go with veggie friends. They have a terrace ideally to enjoy on summer times. Book a table before going because it´s very popular and with good reasons.

Another amazing veg/vegan restaurant in Cologne. This is by far the best vegan Asian in the city and it’s not close if you ask me. Such good flavors. The drinks are great too. Can get busy fast as does everything in Kölle that’s worth it.

Seldom seen such a good Vietnamese! Really delicious food. Employees are friendly. Food is also prepared briskly. However, it can happen that you have to wait for a place.

It's a very good vegetarian vietnamese restaurant, always fullof people and if you don't come early enough you have to wait to find a place...or you can make a reservation before to be sure not wait too long. I can really understand why this one is so popular because the food is just wow ! Everything is so delicious!!!! I didn't know that vegetarian food could be so good and that you could eat so much different things. BUT I cannot put 5 stars because I told them I have basil allergy and there was basil in one of my summer-roll and I only undestand it after 2 or 3 bites so it was too late because I ate it. Now I have to take medecine and I am stuck in the toilets with estomac ache...not because of the food freshness which was perfect I guess but because of my allergy to basil. So, just if one of the personnel is reading this review, please make sure 100% that what the client told you had been executed in the kitchen. I hope I will survive the night...and the days afters so that I could go back to this restaurant again and eat and try different food but telling them again and again that I am allergic to basil!!!

Great place to eat unusual vegetarian food in Cologne. Very cozy place, lovely food, nice service. Highly recommended it. Just one advice for fellows travelers it is cash only place no credit cards accepted.

The place has incredibly nice food (I had a Pho soup & it was spectacular). The food was served quickly & the the portions are huuuuge (I paid 6 euros for a "small" bowl of soup). A lot of clearly labeled vegan options!
